“The One who was born of God keeps us safe.” 1 John 5

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle John wrote:

“We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.” 1 John 5:18.
We have addressed the first part of this verse: This week we shall address the second part.
The Word says, “Anyone born of God is a Child of God, and is joint heirs with Jesus.” (Romans 8:17)  The Holy Spirit spoke through Paul saying, “But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons and daughters.  Because you are sons and daughters, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba ,Father.’  So you are no longer a slave, (of the flesh), but a child of God; and since you are His child, God has made you also an heir.” (Galatians 4:4-7)
The Spirit of Christ Jesus is in our hearts.  He is our Great Shepherd.  He shall lead us if we will follow. He is a lamp unto our feet, a Light unto our path. He is our Protector and Provider and Perfecter.   We can do all things through Him who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13)  He said the things He did on earth we can do also – and even greater things. (John 14:12)  In the Holy Spirit, we are One with Him.  He has given us a spirit of power and love and sound mind in which to use that power. (2 Timothy 1:7)  We have the armor of God to cover us, and the shield of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one, and the sword of the Spirit (Jesus) which is the Word of God to fight our battles, and the awesome power of prayer to fuel the fire within. (Ephesians 6: 10-18)  When we walk in Jesus, the evil one cannot harm us.
We are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved by our Heavenly Father, my brothers and my sisters.  He sent His Son from Heaven, to be born in the flesh, gave Him the name Jesus, (God saves)  to live for us a sinless life, and then die for us – taking all of our sins, short comings, sorrows, weaknesses, bad habits, and diseases upon Himself to set us free from sin and death.  God then raised Jesus from the dead and set Him above all things, and put all things into His hands, and gave Him all power and authority in Heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18)  He now sits upon the throne of Grace, and intercedes for us to give us every help we need.  Jesus defeated the evil one. We are safe in Him.
May you be in perfect health, and prosper in all good things, God’s Beloveds.
