“And all who heard it were amazed.”

Hello Abundant Life Family.  I pray you had a Merry Christmas as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As we look at the Word to see how the Father announced to the world the birth of His only begotten Son, we see how He started with those who shepherd.
Those who know where the green pastures, and still waters are.
The Word says, “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you Good News that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you:  You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”  When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”  So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.   When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.” (Luke 2: 8-18)
I love the way the Lord confirms who this Baby is.  In addition to speaking to Mary, and Joseph, He spoke to the shepherds through an angel of the Lord, and the glory of the Lord (a light beyond words) and heavenly hosts, and a sign which was a baby lying in a manger wrapped in cloths.  This baby was the Messiah, the Lord.  He was and is the Good News to all who will believe that He is, and will ask Him into their heart as Savior.
As we go forth may we, as the shepherds did, spread the Word of what we have heard and seen and know to be true.  Some will hear, and some will think it foolish to believe what God has done for us.  That is not for us to judge.  Let us just tell the Good News in what ever way the Lord leads.  Those who have ears to hear will hear.   Those who hear it will be amazed.
Have a wonderful week as we prepare for the New Year.  May you be given wisdom, health, happiness, and prosperity in all good things, God’s Beloveds.
Poppa B.
