“Blessed is the one who believes that God will fulfill His promises.”

As we continue to look at the days of the Holy conception, and birth of our Lord Jesus, we pick up in Luke, chapter One.  The angel Gabriel had just delivered God’s message to Mary, a young virgin in the town of Nazareth, a town in Galilee, that she would become pregnant by the power of the Most High as the Holy Spirit overshadowed her.  That she would give birth to a Son, the Son of God, and that He was to be given the name Jesus, (a Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua), which means “the LORD saves”.

The Word says, “At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth.  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.  In a loud voice she exclaimed:  “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!  But why am I so favored that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.  Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.”  Luke 1: 39-45
Elizabeth, Mary’s cousin, had been barren, and was well passed child bearing age when God allowed her to be with child.  That child would become known as ‘John the Baptist’, and would years later baptize Jesus Himself as He entered into His time of Ministry as the Christ.  Her joy and delight of having Mary visit her with the message of what had happened, and her response is the message all of us need to stand on each day.  “Blessed is the one who has believed that the Lord will fulfill His promises.”
The Holy Spirit said through Paul, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”  2 Corinthians 1:20
As we go to the Word each day, let us receive the promises of God’s love, and deliverance, and protection, and provision, and peace, and propitiation through faith in Christ Jesus. “Blessed is the one who believes that the Lord will fulfill His promises.”
Merry Christmas, God’s Beloveds.  You are greatly loved, highly favored, and deeply loved, precious Child of God.
