“Do you believe in the Son of Man?” John 9:35

As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we pick up at verse 35 of chapter 9.  Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle wrote:

“Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when He found him, He said, ‘Do you believe in the Son of Man?’  ‘Who is He Sir?’ the man asked.  ‘Tell me that I may believe in Him.’  Jesus said, ‘You have now seen Him, in fact He is the One speaking with you.’  Then the man said, ‘Lord, I believe,’ and he worshiped Him.”  John 9: 35 – 38.
As we look at the words, “when He found him,” we know Jesus went ‘looking for the man’ after He heard that the Pharisees had thrown him out of the Synagogue.  He obviously wanted to comfort him, and encourage him, and to give him some news that He had only revealed to one other person face to face at that point.  Jesus had told a woman at a well in Samaria that He was the Messiah -John 4:26.  Why He chose these two to tell directly that He was the Messiah, the Word does not say.  We know that He went to the well in Samaria at a specific time to talk to this specific Lady to tell her that He was the Messiah, and we know that this blind man, blind from birth, was healed “so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” -John 9:3-, we do not know why.  But this we know, He is loving and kind, and reaches out to everyone who is ‘ready to believe’ that He is indeed, Son of God, Son of Man, the Messiah, the Anointed One, the Christ, Savior of Mankind, and total Deity in a body of flesh.  A body that was given to us.- Luke 22:19 – who believe.
When Jesus told the Lady at the well who He was, after the miracle of telling her everything about her past, (He knows everything we have ever done and loves us anyway) she believed, and went running to tell that the Messiah had come.  When Jesus went to the man whom He had given sight (physical and spiritual) and told him who He was, the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped Jesus as the Messiah.  But before He told him who He was, the Lord asked him this question, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
When we believe in the Son of Man, our Christ,  and in His Love, and His power; when we believe that He, The Messiah,  has come into our being, we are able to do miraculous work with Him, In His power.   I am not saying what we can do, or not do, but I am saying we Will do miraculous work in this life as we believe in Him.   And we can expect Him to do miracles unto us, and for us as we believe.   He comes looking for us every day to bring them as we walk with Him.
He loves you dearly, precious child of God.  He wants to bless you greatly.  Believe in the Son of Man, Son of God, and His love for you. Receive all that He has for you, and be all that you can be in Him as you believe.  He said, “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”  Mark 5:36
