“Happy Mother’s Day. You were called. You are a blessing to the World.”

Today is Mother’s Day.  What a wonderful Day to Celebrate.  None of us would be here without that beautiful creation of God that gave us life – our Mother.

I love to read the story of God sending the angel Gabriel to a young lady in Nazareth to give her the good news that she was going to be a Mother. She was soon to give birth to the Son of God.
The Word tells us: ”God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David.  The virgins name was Mary.  The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you are highly favored.  The Lord is with you.  Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.  But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary you have found favor with God.  You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High..   The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his Kingdom will never end.”  “How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? ” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.  So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.  For nothing is impossible with God.”  “I am the Lord’s servant , Mary answered.  May it be to me as you have said.”  (Luke 1: 26-38)
Mary was chosen to be the Mother of our Lord Jesus. Elizabeth was chosen to be the Mother of John the Baptist.  Both are miraculous births.  One who was a virgin would give birth to a child.  One would give birth to a child even though she had been barren all of her life, and was now in her old age.  Both Miracles, but so is every birth.  Every woman that is chosen to give birth receives a miracle from God.  God greatly honors those who are a part of creation of life as we see Him first say in the Ten Commandments He gave to Moses – “Honor thy Father and thy Mother.”  Jesus confirms this in His walk on earth as recorded in Matthew 15:4, Mark 7:10, Mark 10:19, Luke 10:19, He said, “Honor thy Father and Mother.” is one of the great commandments.  And one of the last things He did before He died on the cross for us was to tell His Disciple John to take care of His Mother. (John 19:27)  He honored His Mother.
Of course not every woman has been chosen to be a Mother by natural birth, but there are many women who have been, and are Mother’s from adoption, taking a child in that lost a parent, or the parent could not take care of them, being a foster parent, and other reasons as well.  However, or whatever the situation may be, if you are a Mother, you have a high, HIGH, calling.  Your impact on life for a family, or individual is beyond description.  It usually comes one day at a time,  with huge leaps on those ‘aha’ days, but for the most part you are in there everyday grinding it out because of your great love for them.  You cook, you clean, you counsel, you listen, you cry with them, and laugh with them, and hurt with them.
You are Mom, and you would give your life for them without a second thought. You deserve to be honored.  May this be your day in every way.  May you be praised and lifted up, and honored in very special ways.
No doubt each of us will be honoring our Moms if they are still with us.  My Mom has gone on to be with the Lord, and my Dad.  She had told me the day she died that she would be dancing on the streets of gold with my Dad by the next morning.  She went home that night. They danced right up to me in a dream that was as clear as the noon day sun. My Mom smiled and said, “I made it”!, and they danced away together.  So, I honor her in my love for her.   I honor my wife for the way she loves our children, and for the amazing Mom she is.  I honor my daughter for the way she loves her son, and for the incredible relationship they have.  I honor all of those who have the role of Mother.  You are beautiful.            THANK YOU.  THANK YOU.  THANK YOU!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY,  MOTHERS.   You were called. You are greatly blessed, and highly favored, and deeply loved.  You are a blessing to the World.?
