“He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him.” John 1:11

As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we pick up at verse 9, of Chapter One.  Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle wrote:

“The true Light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.  He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.  He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become Children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
John 1: 9-13
What a wonderful message of love the Holy Spirit gave to John to write to us. And no doubt John heard these very words from the Lord Himself.  Jesus came to this world for everyone. To bring light unto each of us, and to give everyone the right to become a child of God and to enter into family fellowship with Him, and the Father, and the Holy Spirit, and all that brings.  It does not matter where we were born, or what our family of natural descent is.  All that is necessary to receive that Light, and become a child of God is to believe in His name.  Jesus.  It means “The Lord saves”.  It was given personally by our Father and sent by an angel to Joseph and Mary.  The Word says, “On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He was conceived.” (Luke 2:21)
The Lord knew when He came into this world in the flesh that He would be rejected by many of the very ones who were put in place for Him to be born through.  They knew more about Him than any other nation of people, they were His own,  but they did not expect Him to come in the way He did and consequently did not recognize Him. (That will be rectified later. Romans 11:25-29)
Let us give thanks and praise for what the Lord Jesus has done, and does for each of us.  He brought His light of Love to all mankind.  The true Light.  Let us receive Him and His love, and allow that love to flow through us to all those in our world each day, precious child of God.
May you be blessed with perfect health, and may you prosper in all good things, God’s Beloveds.  You are greatly loved!
