The Word says that one day Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They gave Him names of Prophets that had gone on before Him such as Jeremiah, Elijah, John the Baptist.
“But what about you?”, He asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered. “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God..(Matthew 16: 13-16)
The Lord told Peter He was right. He blessed Peter and told him that our Heavenly Father had revealed this truth to him. So it is for each of us. Jesus went on to say, and “On this rock, I will build my church, and the gales of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matt 16: 17-19)
Later the Lord made it clear that the power to bind and to loosen here on earth was granted to all who believe. As He was talking to His disciples He said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Mathew 18:18.)
We have been given the keys of the kingdom of heaven. We have been given the power to bind, and to loosen with the spoken word, and faith in the Lord Jesus. The Holy Spirit spoke through Paul said unto us, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or fear, but a spirit of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, and of self discipline.”(2Timothy 1:7) The question then is this: What are we doing with these gifts?
Let us remember we are a “key carrying” kids of the God of the heavens, of the universes, and of the earths, and all creation. Authority, and Power has been granted unto us, and the love and the sound mind, and the discipline to use it. Power to use the gifts given to us in and through Jesus, the Christ, Son of the Living God. Power to bind and to loosen good and evil in His name.
For example, If symptoms of sickness try to come upon on us, let us bind them away with the Word from Isaiah 53:5. “By His wounds we are healed.”. If we are in need in any area of our life, let us loose provision with His Word which says: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor so that you, through His poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)
Have the Word in your heart for any occasion, God’s Beloveds. Use your keys, and your power to bind and to loosen. Bind evil away; loose grace, truth, mercy, kindness, joy, love, peace, and all that is good upon yourselves, your families, your friends. Do not allow the enemy to run free. Bind him with the power of the Word in Jesus name.
