“Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life.” John 14:6

Between my internet service going down, and all of the recent dedicated days on weekends, it has been a while since we dug into our study of the Gospel of John, but let’s pick up where we left off at John 14:1. Jesus and His Disciples are having the Pass Over Meal, which becomes “The Lord’s Supper”. He has washed their feet as an example of humility, and Servant Leadership, and has spent the time continuing to Teach the Truths that are ours to have, and telling them once again what is to come. He tells them He will be going away, and they cannot come now, but they will join Him later. He says:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms;[some translations say: ‘In my Father’s house are many mansions”] if that were not so, would I have told you I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come back and take you to be with Me that you may also be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, ” I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really know Me, you will know my Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.” John 14: 1-7

What a revelation to the Disciples. The Word had always taught that “no man has seen the Father”. But now Jesus is telling them, they have seen the Father. Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered, “Don’t you know Me, Philip, even after I have been among such a long time? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” John 14:8-9

“Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” This is the capstone to build the truth of God’s love for us. The words of truth that fits, and joins everything together. In 2 Corinthians verse 1:20 the Word says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are YES in Christ Jesus, and so through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” Every promise God ever made was, and is YES in Christ. He is the Way – that Way is unconditional Love from the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the Truth – the proven truth, seen on a cross, that Father has set mankind free from sin and death because of His unconditional love for us. He is the Life – the Life that Jesus said He came to give to us Abundantly through His Grace. Every promise for eternal life made is YES, IN CHRIST.

To know Christ Jesus, is also to know the Father, and the Holy Spirit. Great God in three persons, Blessed Trinity. More on this as we continue this fascinating study of the truth He left the disciples with.

Have a wonderful week as you walk with our Lord in His great love for you.?
