As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we pick up at verse 31 of Chapter 13. Judas had just left the upper room where Jesus and His disciples were celebrating the Pass Over. He was going to betray Jesus to the Jew’s Leadership. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle writes:
“When he (Judas) was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will glorify the Son in Himself and will glorify Him at once.” (John 13: 31-32)
When Jesus sent Judas on the way to betray Him, this was Step One of the Magnificent Plan that had been created to save Mankind. Only Jesus Christ, and The Father, and The Holy Spirit knew of this plan. Satan, and the Jewish Leadership, and the Pharisees, and the Sadducees and those who followed them wanted Jesus dead. But little did they know this needed to happen for the plan to go forward.
Satan wanted Jesus dead because Jesus was the Messiah; and Satan thought the Messiah would take back the promised throne of David, and take back the keys of the kingdom he had stolen from Adam. He thought the chosen race killing Jesus because they did not believe in Him would stop that. The Jewish Leadership wanted Jesus dead because part of them did not believe Jesus was the Messiah, because He had not come in with a physical Army to set them free from Rome. The other part wanted Jesus dead because they were afraid the people would make Jesus High Priest, and remove them from their control of the people. But what our God of Love wanted, was to set us free from the sin and death man had fallen into through Adam. The shed blood and death of the perfect sacrifice would accomplish that. Jesus had come to earth to be the Messiah, and the Perfect Sacrifice.
Father God was willing to allow His Son to die for us because He loves us unconditionally; and His Son was willing to die for us because He loves us unconditionally.
God always has a plan. He does nothing by mistake. He does nothing ahead of its time, or nothing behind its time. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecclesiastes 3: 1) Many times we do not understand the plan, and it is not imperative that we do, but this we do understand, He always gets it right. None of them knew what they were doing except the Lord. Let us always bear in mind, He is sovereign, He is love, we can and must trust Him for us to have Peace. For as the Word says, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:15.) Let us trust His mind, let us trust His heart; in all things and in all ways. He loves us so; He proved that by sending Jesus to meet our needs. We can trust that He always will work to meet our needs, He will always make it all come together for our Good as we walk with Him in Love. For in this He is glorified. In this He shows His unconditional love for us. Walk in His Love, God’s Beloveds. Jesus is His Love. Expect to be greatly blessed in Him. 💚
