Hello, Abundant Life Family,
As we count down to the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, let us be reminded of His miraculous conception. He is the Son of God, He is the Son of Man. He sits upon the Throne of Grace as a man, who totally understands everything about us, and as God, who totally cares for us as we walk with Him.
As we look at the Word, we find the account of His conception. The angel Gabriel was sent to the virgin Mary to tell her she had found favor with God, and that she would be giving birth to the Messiah. He said to her:
“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end. ‘How will this be,’ Mary asked, ‘since I am a virgin?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.'” Luke 1: 31-35
