“Tis’ the Season” Luke 1: 26-28

As we enter into the month of the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us begin to let the miracle be fresh in our minds and hearts.  Life is often so busy, we get caught up in the needs of our work, and family, and all that is good, but keeping the perspective of our celebration of life and being led by our spirit is most important.    We shall use the mid-week Message this month to talk about the Lord coming to this life in the flesh.

The Word says, “In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David.  The virgin’s name was Mary.  The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1: 26-29)

God always has specific times, and specific people selected for specific events.
Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, God had spoken through the Prophet Isaiah to tell us what He was going to do for us, and how.  He said,”Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: the virgin will be with child, and will give birth to a son, and you will call Him Immanuel.”  (Isaiah 7:14)
Immanuel means “God is with us”, and now the time had come, and the cast was set.
The Holy Spirit had written through Luke that Elizabeth, Mary’s cousin, would be giving birth to the one who would come in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for the Savior, Mary had been selected to give birth to the Lord Jesus while still a virgin, Joseph had been selected to be the man who would marry and take care of Mary, and help raise Jesus as his son in a town called Nazareth in Galilee,  and Gabriel was to give the Good News.
God makes no mistakes.  The time, and cast is set for each of us as well.  We are here because it is time.  We are part of a family He brought us through to have the DNA He specifically wants for us.  Let us rejoice and be glad that great things lie ahead.  The Lord is with us.  We are highly favored.
Blessings and love are ours through Him.  Have a wonderful day as you walk in and share His lavishing Love, God’s Beloveds.  ‘Tis the Season’.
