“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3: 5

There is just no way that we can understand everything that happens in our lives as we journey through this world.  We hear these words spoken often …..”I just don’t understand.” ….. and we don’t.

In the last couple of weeks In Texas, we saw hundreds of thousands of people flooded out of their homes in Houston, and other areas.  Extreme damage in towns like Victoria, and Port Lavaca, and Port Aransas, and Rockport, and many other Coastal towns. This week In Florida, and Islands beyond we see horrible destruction, loss of lives, millions of people without power which means no way to meet basic needs, and the horror and pain that brings.
We see Parents struggling to find a way to take care of their family because of loss of income, children being abused because of drugs or alcohol in the parents, fanatical religions committing insane crimes in the name of God, and the list unfortunately goes on and on.  We cannot understand these things, or why they happen.  We simply have to face whatever we have to face today, and do the very best at what we can do.  At what is actually in our hands, or influence today.   To learn to live in the present, and what it can bring.
The Lord knows we will not understand many things that happen, but we are not here to understand everything.  That is above our current paygrade.   We must come to the realization that we are on a short journey through this life to learn, and grow, and become what we are created to be.  The things that we will face are all a part of that, and obviously those will be different for each of us because we are each here for, and on, our own purpose.
So, here is what He says we are to do.  “Trust in Him with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding; and in all ways acknowledge Him and He will make our paths straight.”  (Proverbs 3: 5,6)
We get up each day with this knowledge: “God is Good”.   Our first thought being, He is with us, and we thank Him for that fact.   We know in our heart that we can trust Him, and we tell Him so as we are thanking Him for another day.  We know He did not create the bad things that are going on around us, but He will navigate us through them, and help us to grow from them.  He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all things we have need of will be given.”  Know that whatever we have need of for that day will be provided.  Let there be no anxiety over what seems to be lacking, or seems to be out of control.  As you prepare for the day, ask Him to put His wisdom into your mind to impress upon you the things your part is to do and be today.  (Our part is all we are responsible for -we are not responsible for everything that is wrong, or to try to make everything right.)  As we trust Him and acknowledge it is by Him and through Him that we do our best part, He directs us to our ‘personal straight path’ for the day that will contain protection, and provision, and peace.  He opens doors we did not even know were there, and brings things into our lives we did not know were on the way.
We do this one day at a time.  We operate in the ‘now’.  We trust that every day, and everything in it has a purpose.  We are at peace. Everyone, and everything around us sees that peace, and are encouraged by us.  The Big Problems need to always be placed into the Hands of our all powerful, all loving, all sovereign God through Prayer, and Trust.   Let us just relax, and give our best in our Lane.
May you be blessed with perfect health.  May you be blessed in the divine wealth of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and provision, God’s Beloveds.   May you walk with favor in the eyes of our Lord, and man.  You are greatly loved.
