“Unity and Diversity in the Body” 1 Corinthians 12

Each day I see the need to remind ourselves how important our role is to the big picture of life.
I know we know what I am about to say, and have heard it countless times, but it is an issue for a lot of people so we need to say it again.  Every person on this earth, right now, is here for a REASON..  For a PURPOSE.  But the enemy convinces them they are of no importance, through shooting poison dart messages into their mind that they allow to stick, and they get turned upside down.  They either do not feel valued, or they do not feel heard.  They feel unappreciated, and often very alone even though they are with other people.
Paul addressed this thoroughly in Romans 12, and partially in several of his other letters, but we are using 1 Corinthians 12 here today.  Paul, who was called and personally taught by Jesus Himself,  was telling members of the Church Body, how each one was necessary, and needed because there was friction or people falling away from the Fellowship.  Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, He wrote to them “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its parts form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.  Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”
He went on to say, “Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being a part of the body.  And if the ear should say,’Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being a part of the body.  If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?  But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be.  If they were all one part, where would the body be?  As it is, there are many parts, but one body..” (1 Corinthians 12: 12-20)
In a family, in a church, in a company, in a relationship, in a friendship, whatever we are a part of, we must realize WE ARE IMPORTANT TO THE WHOLE!  If no one is telling us that however, we may listen to the one who lies to us UNLESS we are plugged in every day to the true source.
If we are in the Word each day, and are in constant communication with our Lord in prayer, and thanksgiving, and meditation, we will not need other people telling us we are valued.  We are needed.  We are loved.  We are important.  The Holy Spirit will tell us.  The Lord Jesus will tell us.  Abba Father will tell us in our heart, and in our soul.  We will be inspired to bring the best that we are each day -to the day -and walk with Him in it.  No matter what our assignment is, it is important, and it is valued by the Lord.  He sees it.  He appreciates it. He is the One giving points for it.  When we give it our best,  He is the One who will say, “Well done, my Child.  Well done.!!!”
I pray that no one will allow the actions of other people to determine how they feel about themselves.  Whether they are passed over for a job, or people do not communicate with them as they should, or a friend does not do what we think they should, or a loved one hurts them; that is all passing stuff, and people are often just not aware of what they are doing.  If we can learn to love without conditions, we are at peace, regardless.  God loves us unconditionally.  Let us love ourselves and others the same.  Let us receive His unconditional love, bask in it, and live the abundant life in it.
You are greatly loved.  Your part can only be played by you, just as Christ’s part could only be played by Him. You are extremely Important to the Body.  Show up and do your part to make it complete.
