Sometimes we can let fear and timidity cause us to not be the person our God created us to be. We may let these things keep us from thinking clearly about things that come into our lives that will take us to a new level of peace and prosperity. To a new level of trust and faith in Him.
We must realize if we are living in fear and timidity, these are things of the flesh, and are lies of the enemy. The Word, given to us by the Holy Spirit, and made so by the finished work of Christ Jesus, tells us what the truth of the matter is. The truth is: “God did not give us a spirit of fear or timidity, but a spirit of power and love and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
We are a miraculous creation of God who has given us a body of mortal flesh to take a walk on this earth in. It will be replaced. We sometimes think that is who we are for that is what we see, and what we feel, and feed, but the truth is we are a soul, which is our mind our will and our intellect, that will live forever. We are given a spirit that brings us to the status of ‘child of God’, with a sound mind when we accept Christ Jesus as Lord, and that is who we really are. As a child of God, when we choose to walk in our spirit rather than our flesh, we walk with a sound mind because we walk in the wisdom of Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. When we feed our spirit and our soul with the Word, and fellowship with our Lord, and true brothers and sisters, we will walk with a sound mind. We will make good decisions . We decide to receive all that He has for us. We walk in His propitiation, His perfect health, His provision, His protection, His peace, His perfection in our spirit.
Let there be no mistake as to who we really are. May we always live in the truth. “Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly.” A sound mind will say, “Of course”!!!
