Jesus cried out, “The one who looks at Me is seeing the One who sent Me.” John 12:45

We continue our study of the Gospel of John. Picking up at verse 44 of Chapter 12, we read the words of Jesus, penned under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by the Apostle. He wrote:

“Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me only, but in the One who sent Me. The one who looks at Me is seeing the One who sent Me. I have come into the world as a Light so that no one who believes in Me should stay in darkness.” (John 12: 44-46)

Every word of Jesus is filled with power, and each word He speaks reveals who He is if we will simply listen, and believe. He has told us clearly that He is Our Messiah, Our Savior, and Redeemer. He gave His Blood and and His Body as our Substitute on the Cross to pay the price to set us free from eternal death. He is Our Propitiation, Our Healer, Our Rock on which to stand for that firm foundation in this shaky and dark world. He is The Light in the darkness to guide us on our way as we journey toward Heaven. He is Love. He is the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit in Spirit, and in Flesh. He and the Father are One, He and the Holy Spirit are One. He is One with them, they are One with Him. Great God in three persons, blessed Trinity. Just as we are created body, soul, and spirit; each part of our being to function in separate purpose, yet be as one to the eyes of man.

This is what Jesus was meaning when He said, “The one who looks at Me is seeing the One who sent Me.” God Almighty sent Him. He IS God Almighty. He wants the world to know that. He came as a Light to lead man out of darkness. He came as a man to show us His Love from all that He did as a man. He came as God to show that all power, all goodness, all love is in Him.

Let us look to Jesus as Son of Man; One with with man. One with those who believe. Let us look to Jesus as Son of God, One with God Almighty; for that is who He is. Let us look to Jesus as Light of the world; Savior of mankind, and share that truth every day in the way He so creates. The Word says, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ who is the Head over every power and authority.” We are complete in Him. Let our lives show that to the world.
