“The right time for Me has not yet come;” John 7: 6

As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we pick up at verse 6 of Chapter 7.

The Brothers of Jesus were ridiculing Him about His teaching, and told Him that “He should go to the Feast of Tabernacles that was about to start so that He would have a big crowd to show the miracles He was doing.”   Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle writes:

“Therefore Jesus told them, ‘The right time for Me has not yet come; for you any time is right.  The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify that what it does is evil.  You go to the Feast.  I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for Me the right time has not yet come.  Having said this He stayed in Galilee.”  (John 7: 6 – 9)
God always has a plan for us.  If it is His, we know it will be good as it unfolds.  If the evil one was able to create a problem for us, our Lord will take it, and make it work together for our good even if it was not His.   (Romans 8:28)
He always has a right time for everything within His plan for us.  He tells us in His Word:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. ” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)  Our All Knowing, All Seeing God has already seen all things that will happen and has assigned them a time to happen.   He is always working for our good.
Jesus had been given the task of telling the world – primarily the Religious Leaders – that what they were doing was evil.  He knew they hated Him for saying these things, but that was part of the plan.  He knew what was in store for Him.  That was all part of the plan.  But it was not yet His time.
When we come to realize that God knows what lies in store for us, and that He determines our steps (Proverbs 16:9) to take us to what is best and good when we give our lives to Him in Christ, we will have a peace within our heart that brings joy and abundant life.  We will not worry about the timing of things to come.  We will totally trust Him.  This will free us to enjoy today –  the day He has made.  We shall rejoice and be glad in it, knowing that His time is always the right time for whatever we need.
Blessings and love to you, and yours, God’s Beloveds.  May you and yours enjoy perfect health, and the divine wealth of peace, and prosperity in Christ Jesus.
