“Believe in the Light…so that you may become children of Light.” John 12:36

“The crowd spoke up, ‘We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up?’ ‘Who is this Son of Man?’ Then Jesus told them, ‘You are going to have The Light just a little while longer. Walk while you have The Light before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in The Light while you have The Light so that you may become children of Light.’ When He had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid Himself from them.” (John 12: 34-36)

At another time, Jesus had declared, “I AM the Light of the World. Who ever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life. (John 8:12) Here He is telling them He would be with them just a little while longer, and then He would be gone. He told them a darkness would come after He was gone – as it did over Israel as a whole. They did not understand, but He had come to this earth as Son of Man to be the Savior of Man, and then return to Heaven. He was born in the flesh to become One with Man, and to be our Messiah. He was born to walk in flesh and blood to show Man what they could be, and what they could do in Him. He came as The Light of Life to lead Man out of darkness. He came to set us free from sin and death by giving that body of flesh and blood as the supreme and final sacrifice for Man. He said, “Believe in the Light, so that you may become children of Light. He was preparing them to be the Light when He left them.

When we accept Jesus as Lord of our life, our Messiah, our Deliverer from sin and death, we become a Child of Light. We are ‘born again’ into His likeness in our spirit. We become One with Him, we become a Point of Light. We carry on the Family Business. We become a Light-House in this world. We are His House. His presence shines through our presence.

Mankind walks in darkness, but they do not realize it. It is only when the Lord shines a light unto them that they realize they are in darkness.
Let us walk in The Light, and let the Lord use us; a child of Light, for His children, our brothers and sisters in this world. ??
