When we accept Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are born again. When we say ‘yes’, to the Conquering Hero, Jesus, The Holy Spirit gives birth to a holy spirit within us, and we become a new creation. A child of God. Son of man, son of God.
Too often, we do not understand what that means, and we proceed in life on our own power instead of walking in what we have been given, and realizing who we are. He saved us from our sins, and given us a ticket to heaven, but/and He also provides for us an abundant life while we continue our journey here.
We continue to look to mankind for approval, and acceptance, and to fix us instead of to the One who made us into this new creation. We accept sickness, and destruction as ‘part of life’ instead of looking to the One who has healed us at the cross,(Isaiah 53: 5) and fights our battles. We allow addictions to control us instead of realizing we have been given the power to overcome any weakness of the flesh through Him.
As the Prophet Hosea said, “We are destroyed from lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)
“Knowledge is power”, someone said, and it absolutely is coming from the right source. If we will go to the Lord in our mind and heart as we open our eyes each morning, and seek His truth in the Word before we step out into the world, He will give us knowledge, and He will direct our steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
So often, the evil one convinces us we do not have time to do that. We have things to do, and places to go, and “oh well, the Lord knows I love Him.” Of course He does, but let us take a minute, and get things in perspective before we ‘take on the day’.
“Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all things you have need of will be given.” (Matthew 6: 33) The Kingdom of God is within us. Jesus is the kingdom, He is our righteousness, He knows our every need for the day -“for your Father knows what you need before you ask” (Matthew 6:8).
He is just waiting for us to come to our source of knowledge and life, and get lined out for the day. He never forces us to do that, but He is always available.
The Word tells us the kingdom of God is in the Holy Spirit, (Romans 14:17), and the Holy Spirit is our power within. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, and fear, but a spirit of power, and love, and sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
We have been given power, and the love within to use that power correctly. We have the soundness of mind for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to live in victory above the issues of life as we walk with Christ within us. “For the enemy is defeated by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of our testimony”(Rev 12:11)
My prayer for each of us is that we may grow in the grace, and knowledge of our Father of Love and Goodness, to come to know all that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has brought to us by His blood, and the sweetness and power of the Holy Spirit that is within us to bring it to pass. May we walk in His Peace.
