“Forget not His Benefits”: Psalm 103

In the New King James Version Psalm 103, we read these words:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, Bless His holy name.  Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all of your iniquities, Who heals all of your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with Loving Kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the Eagle’s .( Psalm 103: 1-5
Most of us ask the Lord to bless us every day.  But, we may forget to bless Him.
This passage is written as “Praise the Lord, O my soul,” in the NIV,  but it blesses the Lord when we praise Him, so they are one in the same.
It blesses the Lord when we believe, and  call upon the holy name of Jesus.  It blesses the Lord when we take advantage of the benefits we have when we are one with Him.   Unfortunately, many do not believe ALL  of the benefits that Christ Jesus provided for us on the cross, and they fail to use them, and receive the full value of them.
Some will believe their sins are forgiven – but not really All of them because they keep going back beat themselves up about them..   Some will believe they are redeemed from destruction, and will be headed for heaven when this life is done, but if they don’t do certain things, they might lose that.  Some might believe that the Lord is He who heals, but they are just not sure if He still does that.  They forget the Word says He is the same – “yesterday, today, and forever’. (Hebrews 13:8)   Some might believe they are crowned with loving kindness and tender mercies – sometimes. Some might believe that when we speak good things, our body, soul, and spirit is renewed, but yet we speak doubt out of old habits or just not thinking about what we are saying.
The benefits are provided, but it is up to us to step up and use them – fully.  It is if you work for a Company that provides health benefits, and you get sick, but you just pay for everything out of pocket, or only apply for a portion of what is available.  What a waste.
May we meditate upon the benefits that the Lord has provided.  He said forget not ALL of his benefits. ALL.  May we bless Him, and use them.  He paid the premiums.  He paid the price with His blood.  May we not allow them to go unused.
May you prosper, and be in good health, God’s Beloveds.   Using ALL of His benefits in the name of Christ Jesus,  will bring those blessings to pass.  May we never forget them.
Love to you, and yours, my Friends.
