“I am the vine, you are the branches…apart from Me, you can do nothing.” John 15: 5

We continue our study of the Gospel of John. We pick up at Chapter 15, verse 1. John continues to quote Jesus, as The Lord says unto His Disciples:

“I am the vine, and my Father is the Gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the Word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit, apart from Me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in Me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you, This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15: 1-8

Jesus makes very clear that we all have a part to play, and how it is played in this walk of Life. Our Father, our Lord Jesus, the Sweet Holy Spirit, and Us, all have a role as we look to The Holy Spirit to keep us as One with Him, and In Him. The Lord uses a vine garden as an example, most likely a grapevine, since this was the most common vine at that time where He was. Our Father is the Gardner, and He sees to it that the Vine is protected and healthy in order to grow the most fruit that can come from it. This is why He prunes the branches that are on the vine, and removes those not bringing forth fruit,

Removing branches, and Pruning the branches is in the hands of The Father. We are not to judge. Removing, and Pruning is above our “pay grade”, and must be left to our Lord. We do not know who will be bearing fruit, and who will not.
Our job is to remain in a relationship of Love with our Lord Jesus; for “apart from Him we can do nothing”. In Him, The Vine of Life, we can and will, bear much fruit as His words remain in us, and we share those words with those in our lives. They produce the abundant fruit our Lord desires to see. They bring glory to our Father, and visibly show that we are disciples of the Love of our Lord Jesus as the fruit of Love is displayed by the Holy Spirit.

Let us be reminded each day that Jesus is the Vine, and we are the branch The Vine sends nourishment, and supplies every need to the branch. The Vine brings produces life; we bring it to the world through the. power of the Holy Spirit, How very blessed we are to be One with the Lord of Love, and to know that abundant life is in Him. How very blessed we are to show His Love to this world we walk in. As it flows through us we taste and are nourished by the sweetness of it.? Blessings and Love upon you, and yours, Beloveds of God.
