A Temporary Goodbye and Jesus’ Spirit Living Within

I am so THANKFUL for each of you as we have worked together on studying the wonderful work of the Holy Spirit.  I am sorry to say I’ll be going “off the air” for a while beginning this Friday. I don’t know for how long, as I am moving. Things have been in disarray since Joy died last month – many changes are in motion. Please know how much I love you, want to be in touch with you, and will be once things settle.

For today: The Word tells us of God’s full dedication to us through our union with the Holy Spirit. It tells us we are beautifully ‘filled by the Spirit’ and blessed because of it. When we accept Christ Jesus as our ‘Lord of Life’, our own spirit and soul and body are then entered into and “baptized” completely in and by the Holy Spirit. Choosing Jesus is to invite the indwelling of His Spirit. The one that led Him to spend a life of service to those in His path. Spirit works within us to help lead us to that end and to keep us “filled” with His presence. Of course, there are times, because of our free will to do, say, or think as WE see fit, it may not always seem like He’s there. But praise God, He never leaves us regardless of our thoughts and behavior. We are works in progress – The Forever Patient One shall never leave us. Never.

I love the description of “the inner life of the Spirit-filled believer” in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In Chapter 5 he wrote, “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be “filled with the Spirit.” Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks to God the Father, for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Eph 5:18-21)

It isn’t that God doesn’t intend for us to have a good time here on Earth… but, our first priority is to take care of one another… to lift one another up. The way songs do. How many times has a song lifted us up or spoken to matters of our hearts? We can do that for each other by speaking love and strength and belief into those around us. Spirit is attempting to teach us our full worth and capabilities as creators and healers as He prompts us to handle life with an eye always toward love and hope. Speak those things into one another, help each other find the beauty within. and we can count on the fact that we are living “in the Spirit.”

More on the mighty work of the glorious Holy Spirit when I return. Meanwhile, please pray for my family as we navigate the road ahead.

Let us also continue to pray for the Ukrainian people and this incomprehensibly heartbreaking war with Russia. Hopefully, deliverance shall come soon. Let us pray for all places where horror has taken place and relief is needed  – especially in Turkey, Syria, and our own beloved land. Pray for wisdom to rise and inform us all.

Love to you and to yours.💚

Blessings upon each of you.
