“Greater Love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

Today, I’m studying the Lord teaching His Disciples while sharing The Last Supper, as we came to know it. It was all about Love. His Love for us and His Friendship, and how we are to love each other as Friends. He told them:

“Greater Love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are My friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his Master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in My name the Father will give you. This is my command, “Love each other.”

(John 15:13 – 17)

Jesus is our FRIEND.

And we are to love each other as Jesus Loved us. He loves us so completely that He gave His life for us. To show us just how far Love will go. He wants us to love Him, our Father, the Holy Spirit, and those in our life with all our heart. We may not have to die for someone as Jesus did, but there are other ways to practice sacrificial love: listening, helping, encouraging, giving. Each of us need or know someone that needs this kind of Love. We need to give that kind of love to the best of our ability to all in our path – the “best” of our ability.

Because Jesus Christ is Master of those who love and receive His gift of life in heaven, and eternal life with Him, He could call us His willing servants. Instead, He calls us Friends. How reassuring to be chosen as our Lord’s Friends. Because He is Lord and Master, we owe Him our unqualified obedience, but most of all, Jesus asks us to obey Him because we trust “the way” to life that leads to ultimate peace for all – the secret that he shared after our Father revealed it to him. Our friend is sharing secrets with us. May we never forget this precious FRIEND that laid His life down for us. πŸ’š

A word on Ukraine – President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a mass grave has been discovered in the city of Izium in the northern Kahakiv region following Russia’s withdrawal from the area last week, once again showing the horror Russia has put upon this country. Our prayers continue. Our prayer is for this war to end now.πŸ™

May each of you be blessed in all that you do and for the Friendship you bring to this world as Jesus, our Father, and the beautiful Holy Spirit do. So many need our Love. So many need our Friendship. Let us be quick to bring it, and to show it, and be it, for all who will receive it.🌟🌟🌟
