“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Romans 12:18

Continuing with Paul’s Letter to the Romans on the life of a Christian:  picking up at verse 14, of Chapter 12, Paul writes,

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.   Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.  Live in harmony with one another.  Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.  Do not be conceited.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil.  Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12: 14-18.)

As we look at some more of “Love in Action”,  listed by Paul, we continue to see how we are asked to live as a Christian using our gifts.  There is no “use it, or lose it” mandate for us.  If we do not use our gift one time, but do use it the next, or use it a little but not a lot, we will not lose our gifts. They are still there. We are told how to use them when we do use them, and asked to remember why we have them.  We can see how the Lord would like us to use them, and the effect of them when we do. The consistent utilization of them comes from the fact we will grow to love to use them, as we use them, and love the fact we are given them to make a difference in people’s lives.  We shall see it when we do.  Our goal is to help. To Minister to needs using our gifts.  Our goal is to bring peace into other people’s lives, and into ours as we live in and as, Christ.  We are His representatives in a body of flesh for others to see, and hear.  He is in us in Spirit. We are One with Him.
Paul gives us specific behavior in reaction to what we encounter, and deal with when working with our Brothers and Sisters.  He tells us what to do with those who persecute, those who are rejoicing, those who are mourning.  To live in harmony, and in peace as much as it depends on us.  To not be conceited, or proud, or repay evil for evil.  To do right as much as possible in the eyes of everyone. To associate with those in a low position that would show complete respect, and equality.  Please read his words again on what to do.
We will not be perfect, but knowing what to do and working with the wisdom given by Paul will give us a great opportunity to use our gifts for our Lord.
Blessings and Love in Christ Jesus, upon each of you.  ?
