Jesus said, “Because I live, you also will live.” John 14:19

We continue in the Gospel of John, chapter 14 – a chapter so important I want to study and enjoy it again and again. A couple weeks ago, we examined the introduction of the Holy Spirit again, for some, as never before. You might recall these words: During His embodiment as a man, Jesus could only cover so much work in so many places over the course of His short life. But Jesus’ Spirit could be everywhere.

We’ll delve more and more into the Holy Spirit before we finish with John 14… but right now we are up to verse 19 as Jesus was saying:

“Before long, the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize I am in my Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

I love these words, in particular, “Before long, the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live.” The world cannot see our Lord, because He lives IN us. How does that happen? By the life-giving Spirit of Him coming to literally take up residence within us. No, we don’t see it with our physical eyes but we “see” through feeling the changes that begin to occur within us. And the world sees us as a different being when we ask the Lord to live IN us. We are totally transformed as we let Him, Jesus through His Spirit, lead us in the right way. In all that we say and do. Sometimes transformation within takes a long time, sometimes it’s rather quick, but it will come. He takes us where we need to go in the process of becoming what we need to become. That is a huge part of Spirit’s job… serving as the vessel through which Christ can dwell in all that invite Him in.

A study note from my Bible states: Sometimes people wish they knew the future so they could prepare for it. God has chosen not to give us this knowledge. He alone knows what will happen, and when it will happen, but He tells us all we need to know to prepare for the future.

He “tells” us by the inner promptings of Spirit when we have asked HIm into our hearts and we will more and more find ourselves wanting to live by His beautiful standards of Love as we are directed. He will “show Himself” to us in ways that keep us wanting to live this life with and through Him. Then every thought, every action, we take towards those promptings are like proverbial bricks being laid for the foundation of the life we will build and we can rest easy that we are on course. As someone said, “We don’t have to know the future to have faith in God; we have to have faith in God to be secure about the future.” Amen and Amen.

As we continue to lift up and pray for Ukraine as it battles Russia, we pick up a piece from the AP. It says, “The latest in a litany of horrors in Ukraine came this week as Russian firepower rained down on civilians in a busy shopping mall far from the front lines of a war in its fifth month. It goes on to say, “The timing was not likely a coincidence.”

The world has not seen anything like this since WW2 and we have no way of knowing how much longer this will last. We only know to pray for some kind of solution for this senseless war and do what we can for them.πŸ™

Blessings and Love are with each of you, my Friends. Much is going on in the world we cannot understand but The Lord of Love and Hope is with us. πŸ’š

Have a wonderful week as you “keep the faith”. πŸ’šπŸŒŸ
