“Let it be done just as you believed it would.” Matthew 8:13

In the Gospels of Matthew, and Luke, we find the account of an incident that has a truth in it that is a ‘game changer’, when we receive it.

The Word says:  “When Jesus entered Capernaum, a Roman Centurion came to Him, asking for help.  ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.’
Jesus said to him, ‘Shall I come and heal him?’
The Centurion replied, “Lord I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.  But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.  For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me.  I tell this one ‘Go’, and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes .  I say to my servant,’Do this’,  and he does it.”    When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those following Him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”…….. Then Jesus said to the Centurion, “Go!  Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.(Matt 8: 5-10, 13)
The Centurion had evidently heard about the healing miracles that Jesus was performing, or he may have seen someone healed by Jesus.  In any event, being a man of authority he understood and believed that the word of Jesus had power and authority over sickness and disease. He said, “Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.”  The words the Lord replied are words for us to live by.  He said, “Let it be done just as you believed it would.”
When we go to Jesus asking for His help, believing that His word has authority over all things, we have faith that He is the source of our every need.  When we believe He will meet that need, we are believing right. Right believing will bring right results.  Just as when a friend or loved one has earned our trust by always keeping their word, we believe them when they tell us something. We can count on it.
Jesus is the Word;  the Word says, “Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him, and afflicted.  But He was pierced for our transgressions and He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4,5)  I tell you from personal experience this is truth you can believe in.
“Let it be done just as you believed it would.”
Be blessed in all things, and in all ways, God’s Beloveds.  Walk in His magnificent love and provision.
