Overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21

  • We all go through times in our life when things are not going as we would like.  When things are happening we simply do not understand.  If we let the circumstances during those times become our focus, we can lose our joy, and our peace.  We can become depressed. We can begin to fret, and that leads to wrong thinking and acting.  Psalm 37:8 says: “Do not fret – it leads only to evil.”  We get anxious.  We get angry.  We lash out at those we love.   We begin to focus on things that seem to be bad instead of remembering this wonderful beautiful truth: “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
It is very important to remember who we are and why we are here to keep life in perspective.  We are here to learn to trust and grow in the unconditional love of our Lord.  We are here to learn to walk in that love, and lavish it on others as we receive it for ourselves.  We are here to learn to walk by faith, and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)  When life is not moving on our time table, we must remember it is moving on His, and His purpose.
So let us ‘fret not’, it leads only to evil. Let us overcome evil with good.  Let us choose to be happy because we are so greatly loved.  Let us look forward to the ‘good’ that shall come in His time.  Let us choose to do something good for others.  Let us choose to use our gifts and bless others.  As we do these things we shall be lifted up by the power and love of the Holy Spirit within.  We shall be transformed by the renewing of our mind back to a person of peace and grace.  Circumstances do not define us, the Love and Goodness of our Lord does when we choose to focus on Him.
Be blessed in all things, and in all ways through faith in His Love, and finished work, God’s Beloveds.
