The Dispensation of the Holy Spirit

Friends, as we enter this Holiday season, I want to bring several messages that will feature the Holy Spirit to help us learn to “keep in step with Him” as we move through our lives. Within our faith, so much focus is placed on God the Father and Son. I want to reintroduce the Spirit of them, what It does for us and, through us, and how we can impact our world with that knowledge.

Interestingly, the Holy Spirit is revealed as a Divine Person in The Bible. A “Person” that lives within believers whose combined traits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Let’s start with Jesus heralding His Spirit… which would descend upon mankind in the wake of His own ascension back to Heaven. The beautiful Word tells us that A New Age was announced by our Lord Jesus Christ.when he began talking about “The Church.” He was clearly prophesying it in Matthew 16. “The Church,” the whole of us who are charged with representing God, was purchased by our Christ with the shedding of His blood on Calvary and established at His resurrection and ascension at Pentecost. Individual believers were, for the first time, baptized “by the Holy Spirit,” (through the vessel of John) into a unified spiritual  organism, a body in which Christ is the Head. This was the origin of the Christian faith and this age is known as “the dispensation of the Holy Spirit.”

Dispensation means “a system of order, government, or organization of a nation, community, etc – especially as existing at a particular time”. In other words, this era belongs to the Holy Spirit. He has a job to do and I believe it’s to recognize his amazing work. We’re told we cannot do anything of value, worth, anything that is worthy of being referred to, anything of substance, anything that will last or anything that will bring glory to God without the Holy Spirit. It is so important that we learn how to be in relationship with Spirit. He is the one who will bestow our gifts and the one that will guide us with divine advice on the way to go in this life. Knowing Spirit’s vital role within The Trinity will help us understand how to listen to His promptings.

Ponder these thoughts as we move into Thanksgiving week and we will go more in depth in the coming season. Let us be forever grateful to have been called to this faith, to this very point in time, to do whatever God’s work for us is. Please continue to pray for the Ukrainians as many have no power and the extremely cold winter is approaching. May their power be restored quickly and may the Russians leave their country quickly.

Blessings and love to each of you.💚
