The Holy Spirit Opens Minds

We continue our focused study of Spirit, the third person in the Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…

After Jesus rose from dying for us, He breathed on His Disciples and said: “This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sin will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised (the Holy Spirit), but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:44-49

AGAIN: “Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.” The Holy Spirit’s first NT function was to impart the ability to interpret the truth of God within His Word. To remove the mystery. He does this in our lives today – opens our minds to understand. We then see how we are to apply the truths He gives us and teach them to others.

Spirit took up residence in them when Jesus breathed on them. It was the origin point of world-wide ministry. He made a promise about that indwelling. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1: 8 As believers, these words apply to us today.

The Lord has given us “power” through the great Holy Spirit to be witnesses of what He has done for us. Let us share the Word through our gifts as we live it.

Please continue to pray for all those in Ukraine, Turkey, and Syria. And lift up the families and communities in Nashville as they begin to return the bodies of their own precious ones, so senselessly slain. We ask our Lord of Mercy to be with them all. Help if you can.

Blessings and Love to you and yours.๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ”ฐ
