“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.  In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”  (John 1: 1-5)

“The Word became flesh, and made His dwelling among us.  We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1: 14)
You have heard the expression, “Hey, what’s the word?”, A way to ask “What is going on I need to get tuned in on – or that I need to know about?”  All Christians come to know that Jesus is the Word John is writing about.  He is what is going on.  He is what we need to know about.
Webster’s defines ‘word’ as something that is said, news, information, promise, 2nd person of the Trinity, the Gospel…..  Jesus was all of these things, and so much more.  He was the Good News.  He was the Messenger.  He was the Message.  He IS all of this and more.
Before Jesus became flesh and made His dwelling among us, God called some of those among us to speak His message.  Prophets such as Abraham, and Moses, Samuel, and David, Jeremiah, and Isaiah were called out to tell us of His love for us.  They brought His Word.  Father always communicated with His children.  Jesus was the crowning communication as God personally delivered the message in Him, and through Him.  Jesus came to demonstrate what unconditional love, and unearned grace, and absolute truth looked like. He took our sins, and sickness, and sorrows upon Himself, and gave us His perfection in return.  He lived a perfect life, and was the perfect unblemished lamb of God who went to the cross for us so that we do not have to.  John said, “I personally saw Him. I walked with Him.”
May we do as John did.  May we walk with Him in Spirit, as the Holy Spirit teaches us just as Christ in the flesh taught John and those who would believe.
May we read His Word daily and let Him speak to us body, soul, and spirit.   He still dwells among us.  He will never leave us or forsake us.
Blessings and love upon you, and yours, God’s Beloveds. May you be blessed with perfect health, divine wealth, and be a blessing to those in your life.
