We are the ‘apple of His eye’. Psalm 17:8

Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

There are times when we do not understand what is happening in our lives as we journey on. We may have everything planned out, with everything seemingly on track and then a ‘time out’ is called by the Lord. He wants to discuss the plan, and give us a better one. That does not mean the game is over. It just means He gives us what we need to win it.

For some of us, we may have forgotten this all important truth – “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the purpose of the Lord that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21
His purpose is always for our good, Romans 8:28, – so while we may not see it all right now, we can trust Him to show us the best way. To give us the ‘best’ plan.

Yes, we may argue about it. We may not understand it at first. We may debate it with the Lord; but if we will listen, we will learn, and we will be on the right track in sync with Him as we get back in the game.

When we were children, most of us enjoyed being ‘fussed over’. It always made us feel secure, and loved when Mom or Dad would help us with something, or compliment something we did, or take the time to discuss something we thought we wanted to do and perhaps offer a confirmation, or sometimes offer a suggestion that would be a better way to go.
So it is with our Lord. He is always looking for ways to bless us, and ‘fuss over us’ by being highly involved in our lives if we let Him. When we ask the Lord Jesus into our lives we are the children of our Heavenly Father. A Father that cares deeply that we grow into the person we were destined to be. He has given us The Holy Spirit to live in us, and empower us in every way to do just that.

As we remember how much He loves us, it gives us the desire to listen to Him, and to do life His Way. He proved His love by giving us grace and mercy through His Son. He shows us His love each day with His personal involvement in our lives as the Lord Jesus Shepherds the Way. His living Word speaks to us each day if we will go to it. His Word reminds us again and again of who we are, and how much He loves us. Psalm 17:8 says, “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” When we remember that we are ‘the apple of His eye’, we know that He always shows us favor. Each one of us is His favorite child. The Apple of His eye. As the saying is, “How cool is that!”

We sometimes do not see what He is doing, but think of how you feel about one who is the ‘apple of your eye’. They may not always see what you are doing, or working on, but you know you always have their best interest in your mind and heart. So it is for the Lord.

Let us rejoice in the blessings of this day, and every day we are given. The Lord has made it, and He has a perfect one planned for us. Let Him call the plays, and use us where we are needed.
We are the Boss’ Kid. We carry the ‘keys to the kingdom’ (Matthew 18:18. Let us enjoy our position, and put our heart into it.

You are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved, God’s Beloveds. Walk in the truth of who you are, always giving thanks for the price that was paid to make it so.

Poppa Barnabas
