What a man desires is unfailing love. Proverbs 19:22

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, The Apostle Paul wrote:  “And now I will show you the most excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 12:31. Paul had discussed the many gifts the Holy Spirit gives to those who have accepted Christ Jesus as the Way in the first part of this chapter in 1 Corinthians, and was putting them into perspective as he wrote:  “If I speak in tongues, if I have the gift of prophecy, can understand all mysteries, have all knowledge, have faith that can move mountains, give all I possess to the poor, and surrender my body to the flames but have not love, I gain nothing.  Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast,  it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered.  It keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13: 1-8

When God said, “Let us make man in our own image, in our likeness.”Genesis 1:26,  He made us to love.  “God is love.” 1 John 4:8.  Since He made us in His image, and likeness we are love. It just gets covered up sometimes.
Love is essential for us to live.  We can exist without it, but we cannot live a healthy vibrant life without it.
When the Lord created us, He gave us the ability to love others as He does.  That is with an unconditional love.  So often we put conditions on how we will love, and that will not work.  There can be no conditions.  No one can earn our love, for sooner or later they will fail to live up to our demand, and problems begin.
God’s love is unfailing.  There is nothing we can do to separate us from His love.  It is living water flowing in our life.   However, when we are in the flesh, that is without Christ, or walking without Him if we do know Him, we cut off the flow.  We dam it up, and cannot experience it.  But when we are in Christ, and letting the Spirit lead instead of letting anger, or impatience, or envy, or resentment, or pride, or ego, or anything else the flesh is prone to shift in to have the lead;  we have that unfailing love overflowing out of our spirit, our soul, and our body. It will be going out to our Brothers and Sisters.
We need unfailing love.  Everyone does.  Only the Lord can give us unfailing love.  Only the Lord can make it flow to others.  Let us go to Him first thing every morning in prayer, and praise, and the Word.  “Seek first the Lord, and His righteousness, and all things we have need of will be given.”  Matt 6:32-33.  We need to be loved.  Others in our lives need to be loved in an unfailing way.  The Lord will meet that need because that is who He is, and what He does.  He is unfailing Love.
May we be encouraged, strengthened, and comforted by the truth of the Word. May we experience that unfailing, unconditional love flowing through our being in body, soul, and spirit as we keep ‘plugged in’  to the true source.
Blessings and love to you, and yours, God’s Beloveds.
