Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers. Proverbs 16:20

Human nature is to say “no” to instruction.   The flesh says “I want to do it my way, so don’t tell me what to do.”

I am not sure what all God had in mind when He dropped this little piece of dynamite into our creation, but one of the reasons seems to be about teaching us to listen to Him.  He has given us free will to choose, so we can listen or not.
But, I believe that listening to the truth of the Word of God is the greatest thing we can learn to do on this journey.  Psalm 18:30 says, “As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord is flawless.”  And so it is.
Yet, we many times dash up out of bed running tight on time to be somewhere, shoot down some coffee as we are getting dressed and thinking about what we have to do today, and begin the day without checking with the Man who has the Plan.  The perfect plan.
Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all things you have need of will be given.” Matthew 6:33.  Therein is the first jewel of instruction for the day.  There is where our day should start as we hit our knees to say “Good Morning, Lord. Thank you for this day.  I am excited about what You have planned for us to do.”   Every day can be like Christmas as we eagerly unwrap it in great expectation.
His instruction says, “Love the Lord with all your heart, and soul, and mind, and body, and love your neighbor as yourself.  Do this and you will live.”  Luke 10:27-28
He said we would LIVE when we love God, our neighbor, and ourselves.  Not just exist – LIVE LIFE ABUNDANTLY.  That is why I came, is what He said in John 10:10.
His instruction is to look to Him for the perfect way for the day.   His instruction is to trust Him.  His instruction says love is the Way.
His Word says, “Whoever gives heed to instruction shall prosper, and blessed is the person who trusts in the Lord”  Proverb 16:20
To prosper is not just about financial prosperity as we often think.  To prosper means our life is green and growing, and blossoming in all areas.  That we Prosper in good health.  Prosper in our spiritual walk. Prosper in our relationships. Prosper in our work. Prosper in all that we lay our hearts and hands to.  Prosper in our going in, and prosper in our coming out.
So let us purpose to listen.  Let us say “yes” to the One who made us, and knows what we need to “prosper” in all things.  Let us heed His instructions
Let us live life abundantly.  It is ours to have.  The Holy Spirit is in us to show the Way through the Word, and through our spirit. Someone said, “When all else fails, read and follow the instructions.”
Blessings and love to you, and yours, God’s Beloveds.  May you be encouraged, and strengthened by the Word.   ” May you prosper in all things even as your soul prospers.”  3 John: 2
