We are Ambassadors of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20

The Word says,

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come.  The old has gone, the new is here!  All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:  that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sin against them.  And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  We are therefore Christ’s Ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5: 17-20
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.  For He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped.  I tell you now is the time of Gods favor, now is the day of salvation.  (2 Corinthians 6: 1-2)
When I came back home from my hitch in Uncle’s Navy, I went to work in the Accounting Department for an Insurance Company.  Our job was to reconcile the Insurance Agents paper work with the policies, rules, and procedures of the Company.  Sometimes in their haste to sell a Policy, the Agent would not get it all done correctly, and we would have to reject the request for coverage and do a charge back.  That was always hard on the Agent whose commission would be held, and on the Customer who thought they had coverage.
The Holy Spirit is saying here through Paul that the deal is done for us. There is no possible charge back because we failed to do something right.  When we accept, and say yes to the fact that Christ became sin for us, and ask Him into our lives, we are covered.   We have become the righteousness of God.  It does not say we ‘will’ become after we have been baptized, or proclaimed faith in front of the Church, or if the Board of Elders approves us, it says ‘the old has gone, the new is here.”
We are reconciled to God the Father through His Son, Christ Jesus.  Father allowed Jesus to take our sin, and allowed us to take His righteousness.   Father asks us then to carry that message to the world as His Ambassador.   To be a co-worker with Christ.  Jesus finished the work of reconciliation; our co-work with Him then is to tell the Good News of the Grace and favor and salvation that is ours now through Him, and to those who will believe and accept the message.
Let us go to the Word each day for the inspiration and encouragement and power to be the Ambassador we have been called to be.  We shall go forth blessed, and empowered.
May you be blessed in all good things, God’s Beloveds.  May you walk in the perfect health and provision, and favor He has for you as you walk as His Ambassador.
You are greatly Loved.
