Hello God’s Beloveds,
The Apostle Paul was called to deliver the Good News to the Gentiles – to the World. Just as Abraham was called to be the Father of many Nations – starting with Israel. Just as Moses was called to deliver the children of Israel from bondage. God calls individuals to do mighty things as they follow Him. Things that can and do change our lives, and the lives of others because we said ‘yes’ to the call.
Prior to this call, Paul was on a path of destruction committed to destroy this thing called “The Way”, because he did not understand what was happening. He did not realize that Jesus had come to this world as a man to bring grace, and mercy and forgiveness of sin, and eternal life through faith in Him. That Jesus was indeed the Son of God, and Son of Man. That Jesus IS The Way.
When Jesus personally brought Paul to the truth, as we see in Acts 9, He first allowed him to be blinded, giving him time to think and seek answers, before he get on with the work he had been given.
So it is with us sometimes.. There are times when things happen we do not understand, and we do not see what is going on. However, the most important thing for us is to come to see is that we can and must trust the process our loving God in three persons has for us. That sequence of events may vary, but He does not. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
Paul came to trust that wherever he was, God was. And whatever he was in, God was in. He said, “For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4: 11-13)
As we learn to accept things that are, (it is what it is), and learn to be in the now of the moment, we have the power of the Lord – for He is with us in the moment – in the now. That does not mean this is where the Lord will keep us if it is not a good place, or that things will not change if we are content in the moment. It just means we are being the best we can be in the moment, and doing what we can and should if things need to change, and trusting God to change them for our good. (Romans 8:28) Trust is the secret to being content.
