We continue our study of the Gospel of John. Picking up at verse 47 of Chapter 12, we read the Holy Spirit inspired words of the Apostle as he records the words of Jesus:
“If anyone hears My words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. There is a judge for the one who rejects Me, and does not accept My words, the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent Me commanded Me to say all that I have spoken. I know that His command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told Me to say.” (John 12: 47-50)
As we read these words of Jesus, we immediately think of what He had said earlier. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16-17)
Jesus had said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My Word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged; but has crossed over from death to life… For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son also to have life in Himself. And He has given Him authority to judge because He is the Son of Man.” (John 5:24)
Although Jesus has been given authority to judge, He has chosen not to at this time. That will come on His return. He came this time to provide the way Out of Judgment. He said, “I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.” He said,”Whoever hears my Word, and believes Him who sent Me HAS eternal life NOW. For when we accept Him, we will NEVER be judged. We do not have to wait for Judgment Day to see what the Judge of our Life has to say; He has said it in the Word. (John 5:24) Jesus has personally paid the price for our every mistake, and it is in Him that we walk with Him into Heaven for eternity. The time we have left on this earth after we accept Christ, is to be given living life for Him, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and bringing glory to the Father’s Love for each of us. Father sent Jesus to this world to save His children from death. Jesus said, “I came that they might have LIFE, and have it ABUNDANTLY. (John 10:10) It is His desire that none should perish, (2 Peter 3:9), and all we have to do to be saved from perishing into eternal death when we leave this world is accept Jesus Christ as Savior, and Finisher of any work that was needed for us at the Cross. (John 3:16) He sent His Best to tell us that.
If you are not sure you are now saved by Jesus, if there is any question whatsoever, simply ask Him into your life right now. There is no special formula, or prayer to pray. Just tell Him you need Him, and ask Him to come into your life as Lord and Savior, and He will take it from there. He will personally walk with you, in you, as you cross over from death to life.
That is why He came.?
