“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

The Word says:  “Is anyone among you in trouble?  Let them pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let them sing songs of praise.  Is anyone among you sick?  Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.   And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.  If they have sinned they will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other, and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. ”  James 5: 13-16

Jesus told us to pray in His name, (John 16:26) because all power has been given unto Him.  “For God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2: 9-11
The Holy Spirit tells us: “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
We have been given, and are, the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.  We are that righteous person that James speaks of.  We have been given access to the throne because of the finished work of Jesus at the cross, and His resurrection. We have been given the privilege to pray and intercede because every believer is a priest.(1 Peter 2:9) and   “The Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power and love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
Therefore, when and as we pray, we can expect miracles to happen.  We can expect those whom we pray for to get well, for the Lord shall raise them up.  We can expect those we pray for to be released from any kind of bondage that has a hold on them.  We can expect great things to happen, in their lives, and in our lives as we ask the Holy Spirit to pray for them and for us.  We can expect wonderful results from our prayers because the Lord has equipped us to pray in power and love, and faith.
Our job is to pray.  His is to bring about the good that comes from our prayers.
May we never be too busy to pray.  May we never allow the enemy to tell us our prayers do not matter.  May we know that our prayers are powerful and effective because the Word says they are.  May we accept the answer to be “yes”, “no”, or “wait in faith for the prepared time”.   Let us rejoice and give thanks in whatever the answer may be, for He always hears us, (1 John 5: 14-15)  and is working for our good. (Romans 8:28)
Blessings and love to you, and yours, God’s Beloveds.  May you walk in perfect health, and divine wealth in every area of your life.  You are blessed to be a blessing.  Pray.
