The Word says: “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.” John 20: 1
It was Sunday. Jesus had been crucified on a cross on the Friday before. He died to complete and finish to perfection the Covenant of the Law, and to be the perfect sacrifice for the remission and forgiveness of our sins and sickness and lack. He took our imperfections and gave us His perfection. He shed His blood to seal the Covenant of Grace, to cover us and to protect us, and to provide for us, and to make us children of God as we believed in Him, and what He had done for us. The Word says, “For by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” (Hebrews 10:14)
Mary saw Him die. She had seen his dead body placed into a tomb, and a large rock rolled into the entrance of it.. She went to visit that grave, and found the stone had been rolled away. After running to tell Peter, and John, she went back to the tomb, and the Word says, “Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked, ‘Woman, why are you crying?’ ‘They have taken my Lord away,’ she said, ‘and I don’t know where they have put Him.’ At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there.but she did not recognize it was Jesus. He asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?’ Thinking it was the gardener, she said, ‘Sir, if you have carried Him away tell me where you have put Him, and I will get Him.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Mary’.” She turned toward Him and cried out in Aramaic, ‘Rabboni’ (which means Teacher) (John 20:11-16)
On March 18, 2011, I was on a business trip to Lanshorne, PA. I was in my Hotel room and in my morning Bible Study which had taken me to these Scriptures. As I read these words, I received a great touch from the Holy Spirit. It was if the Lord Himself was standing before me as He had stood before Mary when she was looking for Him. As He had comforted her with His presence, so it was for me. I wept with great emotion as the Holy Spirit brought me to that scene of love where Mary was shone that He lives, and that he cares, and that He will show Himself to us when we seek Him. He was not among the dead for He had conquered death. He lives in victory in this life, and the life to come. ” For God has exalted Him to the highest place and given Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2: 9-11)
May we be blessed with the truth that He is the One we should always look for in life, in all situations, for our every need, to give thanks and glory to. He died for us. He lives for us. He loves us. We are blessed by Him.
