He Lives – we are Justified. Romans 8

As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord today, how humbling it is to think of what He went through to get to this day those many years ago.

You many have seen some of the movies showing the horrible beating He took at the hands of those He created.  They represented each of us.  They showed how vicious we can be when our flesh is left unchecked.
As I watched “Killing Jesus”, and “The Passion of  The Christ”, I wept as the pictures showed graphically what my Brother, my Lord endured for us, and from us.  As His flesh was torn by the whips, and as His blood flowed, and as He was nailed to a horrific cross to die with criminals, I realized nothing could depict the true horror He suffered for us. I am so sorry He had to go through that.  It broke my heart to see it, and grasp it as much as I could.
But here is the good news, and here is why He did it.  “Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering.  He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.  The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:4-6
Father allowed this for us because He knew, and had shown us, that we could not walk in the way of Love on our own.  He knew that our ego, and our pride, and our greed, and our lust of the eye,  lust of the flesh, and lack of concern for our Brothers and Sisters were more than we could handle, and so He sent the One who could.  His only begotten – Son of Man, Son of God.  He told Mary to give Him the name, Jesus (He who saves) when He was born as her Son.
As The Holy Spirit gave these words to Paul, He said: “What shall we say in response to this?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all – how will He not also along with Him, graciously give us all things.  Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?   It is God who justifies.  Who is he who condemns?  Christ Jesus, who died – more than that who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8: 31-34
Jesus Lives. He defeated death, and took back the keys of the kingdom lost by Adam, and set the captives who believed in Him free. (Ephesians 4).  And by His resurrection,  Father shows to all that He has justified us by His grace, and by allowing Jesus to pay any debt that was charged against us.
Jesus lives, and has been exalted to the Highest place for what He did for us – His Brothers and Sisters.   He is seated at the right hand of our Father God, and has been given the name that is above every name.  The Word says that at some point, “every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.  (Philippians 2:9-11)
He arose.  He lives.  We are justified.  He rules.  He intercedes for us.  He is there, His Spirit is in us teaching us how to live in the way we were created to live. Let us rejoice, and be glad.
HAPPY EASTER!  HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!
Blessings and love to each of you, and yours, God’s Beloveds.
