“Merry Christmas Eve.” Genesis, Micah, Luke, and Matthew.

Merry Christmas Eve, God’s Beloveds.  Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

On the eve of the birth of our Lord, the Word tells us that  His Mother Mary, and His Step Dad Joseph, were on the road to get to a place that had been prophesied over 700 years earlier as to where our Lord would be born.
The Word says, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2.)
Over 700 years before as well, The Lord had spoken through the Prophet Isaiah, saying a sign would come to man through a virgin that would conceive and bear a Son, and they would call His name Immanuel (meaning God is with us).(Isaiah 7:14)
Nine months before this day, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to the virgin Mary, who was betrothed to Joseph.  He spoke these words: “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women.”  But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying.  Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. (meaning God Saves) He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.  Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man? ”  And the angel answered and said to her “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you, therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.  For with God nothing will be impossible.”  Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord!  Let it be to me according to your word.”  And the angel departed from her.  (Luke 1: 26-38)
The angel had also visited Joseph, and said unto him, : “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.  And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1: 20 – 21)
Now they were both obeying a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world he was over would register in the city of their lineage.  That just happened to be Bethlehem for both of them because they were of the line of David, and this is where the virgin would give birth to the One who is Son of God, and Son of Man, who came to walk among us, and  save His people from their sins.  No coincidences here.  Just God fulfilling prophecy; His Word.
The Word of God is always fulfilled.   A promise He made to His children from of old (Genesis 3:15) was about to be be fulfilled. An event that would change the world of mankind.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE TODAY,  MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL TOMORROW, PRECIOUS CHILDREN OF GOD.   MUCH TO CELEBRATE!!!    YOU ARE GREATLY LOVED!!!
