As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we continue in chapter 3. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle writes of the time when Jesus was having a conversation with a religious leader, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He was probing Jesus about who He was and where He came from. Jesus told him, “No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” The Lord was telling Nicodemus, “I Am the kingdom of God, but no one can truly see who I am unless they are born again.”
Nicodemus’ reaction was thoughts of the physical, but Jesus was leading him to the spiritual realm which is where the kingdom of God is here on earth. The Holy Spirit brings the kingdom into each of us when we accept Christ as our Redeemer, and Savior. When we believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God sent to take our sins, and sickness, and weakness and lack upon Himself, and to give us His righteousness, and peace, and perfect health and divine wealth in all things in return, we begin to See things totally different. Of course the knowledge of all these things come at different times for different people, but the fact is when we ask Jesus to come into our life and He enters in, the kingdom comes into our life, because He Is the kingdom. We are born again within as He does.
My son, and daughter, and I were discussing how we see things differently when we are born again. I like the way my son put it when he said, “It is like when a child is starting to see things they have never seen before. It is Wow! Look at That!” The Word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.” We then begin to say, “Wow! Look at That!” The new has come. We see the kingdom. We see its beauty. We hear the song of a bird singing to us, or the music of one God has given it to. We begin to see people in a different way. We begin to see that they are a part of who we are, and that we are a part of who they are. We see that God wants us to love ourselves, and others as we indeed do love ourselves, Mark 12:31. We begin to say “Wow! Look at that!” We begin to see the kingdom of Heaven is here on earth in each of us.
