“Praise to the God of all comfort” 2 Cor 1:3

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul, wrote ” Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”  2 Corinthians 1:3,4

We are on a journey on this earth.  A short journey of life that might span as much as 120 years.  A journey that is given to us by God to learn and grow.  We are to learn to be like Him, and to trust Him.   He sent His Son Jesus Christ from heaven to model that likeness. (John 10:10) He had His Word put into writing by His divine direction to His saints for us to hold in our hand, to receive it into our soul and share with all who would listen.  It is a “Light for our path, and a Lamp for our feet” (Psalm 119:105) He sent His Holy Spirit to live in our hearts (Acts 2:) when His Son returned to heaven to give us a spirit of power, and love, and sound mind.( 2 Tim 1:7 ) He designed a plan for mankind, and a specific plan for each of us.  We are to be the light of this world, and to show what His love looks like. A High calling and purpose.
As we know, it is not always easy.  There is an enemy in the world that was kicked out of heaven because of his pride, and arrogance, and desire to be above the Most High  (Isaiah 14:12-15), (Luke 10:18)
Because he hates us, he will try to bring things upon us to make us think God is not with us.  But that is a lie.  Jesus said, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt 28:20)  That is truth.
So if we find ourselves going through a rough time, let us be comforted by the fact that God is with us. He does not make bad things happen, He does not create sickness, or lack, or weakness of the flesh, but He understands.  In His flesh, or in His Spirit, Christ Jesus has been through everything that could come upon us, and will comfort us when we call out to Him for help, and put our eyes upon Him instead of the issue.  He will remind us of the power that is within us from the Holy Spirit.  He will remind us He is walking with us, and that He is above all things. He is the Alpha and the Omega.  He will remind us that Father will take this and work it for our good.  He will remind us that we can use this to comfort others as we have been comforted; for through Him we shall overcome it and grow from it.
Grace, and peace, and love, and comfort be upon you through Christ Jesus our Lord, God’s Beloveds.
