“Rejoice always”. 1 Thessalonians 5:16

When things are not going as we would like; when we are not happy with someone’s treatment of us, when we are not happy with how we treated someone else, when we cannot see how things are going to turn out for the good, the Word says, “Rejoice”!

Psalms 118:24  says, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”   The Word does not say rejoice if everything is falling into place right now.  It does not say rejoice if everything is going great in your marriage, or relationship. It does not say rejoice if you got the job you wanted, or if your career is exactly what you want it to be.  It simply says, “Rejoice!”  It says, “Rejoice always.”
The Lord made us, and knows our every need.  He knows we can live in love so much better, so much easier when we are happy.  When we are peace. He knows we will face things that try to steal our happiness, and peace;  but He made us and gave us the mind to be able to decide if we are going to let evil dictate how we feel, and what we do, and how we conduct ourselves, or if we are going to call it like we want to see it come to pass and rejoice in our soul “As if” it has. This is not living in denial of reality, it is seeing God at work through our spirit’s eyes.  It is being happy in our soul trusting Him.
How can we do that?  How can we rejoice when we feel like so many things are wrong in our life?  When we are having to deal with things or people we just don’t like?
We start our day in praise, and prayer.   When our eyes are opened, and we realize we have been given another day to live, we connect in our spirit with the Holy Spirit, who is within, through prayer, and praise.  The Scripture says “pray about everything”, and “give thanks in all circumstances.(1 Thessalonians 5:17-18) This plugs us in to the power source, puts things into perspective, and we are ready to go forth in the Light of the One who has all things in His hand. “The Lord Jesus  purifies us from all sin as His blood flows over us, and in us, and through us” (1 John 1:7);  and we are ready to go have a perfect day in Him.  Rejoicing!  Expecting good things to come. Living ‘as if’.
As we walk in His Light, we will naturally rejoice because of all the good things The Lord has done, is doing, and will do.  We will have a smile on our face, and a spring in our step.  God is good.  Always!
Blessings and love to you, and yours, God’s Beloveds.  May you prosper and be in perfect health in the Love of the Father.
