‘Wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.’ Ecclesiastes 7:12

The Bible says that Solomon was given more natural wisdom than any man – before and after..  When Solomon was anointed King after his Dad David died, God came to Solomon in a dream and asked Him what he wanted.  Solomon asked for a discerning heart to govern God’s people and to distinguish between right and wrong.  The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this and not for long life or wealth for himself or the death of his enemies but for discernment in administering justice, so He said unto Solomon, “I will do what you have asked.  I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.  Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for – both riches and honor- so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. (1 Kings 3: 5-13)

Solomon became very wise, and very wealthy in all things.  And He wrote this about wisdom:  “Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun.  Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter,  but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.”  (Ecclesiastes 7:11-12)
Solomon prayed for wisdom.  God said yes to that prayer, and gave him wisdom.  He also gave him wealth, and honor that he had not asked for because he asked for the wisdom to do the right things for others.  So it is for us.
Blessings shall abound in and through us to those in our lives when we pray for wisdom, and look to Christ Jesus as our wisdom to do the right things in life .  The Word says: “Christ has become for us wisdom from God – that is our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)  He is our wisdom.  He preserves our life when we put our faith in Him.  We do what is right in this life when we pray for wisdom, for we are asking Christ to give us discernment to know what to do and how to do it.
To make great decisions, pray each day to be filled with the Spirit of Wisdom.  We have, (we possess)  the mind  of Christ within us.(1 Corinthians 2:16)  Our life shall be preserved by it as we use it.
Walk in Wisdom, God’s Beloveds.  Walk with Him who IS Wisdom.  Talk to Him about everything.  You WILL make great decisions.
You are greatly loved, and greatly blessed.
