“You should not be surprised at My saying, ‘You must be born again.'” John 3: 7

As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we pick up at verse 7 of Chapter 3.  Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle writes of the things he saw and heard the Master Teacher explain to the children of God.  In our scripture today, we are hearing Jesus explain to one of the Teachers of Israel, that to enter into the kingdom of God, we must be born into it.  Just as we are born into our family of the flesh, we must be born into the family of God. Just as we have no control of how we are born into our family of the flesh, we have no control of how we are born again in the Spirit.  Each are miracles of God.

The Word says, “You must not be surprised at My saying, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”  (John 3: 7-8)
What does it mean to be ‘born of the Spirit’?  God is three persons in One.  He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  God has chosen to reveal Himself as a loving and caring Father.  As a Savior by being born into this life in the flesh and blood of man, living a perfect life for us, dying for us to take away our imperfections, defeating death and giving us eternal life thru His new body resurrection and then giving all of that to us when He returned to Heaven.  He also reveals Himself as the Holy Spirit, and has come into this world to bring life and power to all who will accept what He did as Jesus, Messiah and Savior of mankind, and the Way to eternal life.
The Word says, “Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.  He told them, ‘This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  You are witnesses of these things.  I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”  (Luke 24: 45-49)
So when we accept what God did for us in and through Christ Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, our spirit is born again into a spirit that is one with God.  Just as God is three persons, so are we.  Body, soul, and spirit. We do not see a visible change at first, but just as a baby grows in flesh, we grow in our spirit, and a transformation takes place that manifests itself at some point showing who we have become.  A child of God, living in the kingdom.
Have a wonderful week.  Be blessed in all things and in all ways.  Walk in perfect health, and divine wealth, God’s Beloveds.
