The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord. Proverbs 21:31

Proverbs 21: 30-31 tells us:  “There is no wisdom, no insight no plan that can succeed against the Lord.  The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”

There may be times when It may appear that things are not looking good. There may be times when our plans, and life seem to be absolutely stuck in the mud; we seem to be spinning our wheels going nowhere.  We are easily robbed of our joy and peace.
That is when we must remember who we are.  That is when we must remember what faith in our Lord is all about.  “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, it is the evidence of things not seen.” ( Hebrews 11:1)
We may not see it at all times, but we can be assured He is working for our good, that our victory rests in Him.
If we are believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, if we have put our faith in the Son of Man-Son of God sent by our loving Heavenly Father to save us, The Holy Spirit has given birth to our spirit of life within and we are born again.  We are a new creation.  We are sons of man who have indeed become sons of God as well.  Therefore there is nothing that may try to come against us that can succeed if we stand against it in His grace, and faith that He is with us to bring us victory.  Be that disease, sickness, pain, sadness, sorrow, unhappiness, depression, addictions, lack of material needs, or just whatever the enemy may try to mount against us to try to capture our mind, and steal our joy and peace..  Nothing can succeed against the Lord.  Our victory rests with the Lord, child of God.  Rest and rejoice in that truth.
Consider the time when the children of Israel were facing an enemy that had as their Champion a giant man that stood 9 feet tall.  They all fell back in fear except one young man who had no fear.  Instead he walked in faith in the God who had given him the ability to fight and kill the lion, and the bear who tried to take the sheep he was shepherd over.  He had learned to trust in the fact that God was with him.  He stood against this evil with words of faith.  He declared, “All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give all of you into our hands.” (1 Samuel 17:47) And the Word tells us, “So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.” (1 Samuel 17:50)
David stood against the enemy first with words of faith.  He believed that God was with him.  He spoke victory and went forth in faith.   The Lord Jesus stood against the enemy with words of faith.  After His baptism by John, He was tempted again and again by evil to go the way of the flesh, but each time said, “It is written”, He then quoted the word of God, and went forth in victory.  This is how we are to live.  We believe, we speak our faith, and go forth in it.
The Word says, “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”  Our horse, that which carries us, is the Word, my Friends.  The day of battle can be any day.  We must be ready.  The good news is, we are made ready for battle every day by taking the Word into our soul, and spirit, which then goes into our body.  We put our faith into the Word of God, and go forth in trust that “The Lord has got this” – whatever it is,  and that victory is ours.  We shall then be at rest, at peace and joy in the kingdom of God in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)
God is good. He is Love.  He is the answer to our every need.  He said, “I Am come that you might have life, and have it abundantly.”  Let us walk in victory in His Words of life.  God is with us.
