As we continue our study of the Gospel of John, we pick up at verse 3 of Chapter One. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle wrote:
“Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:3
There was a time when I gave little thought to the world I was in. It was here. I was in it. I just learned to live in it by doing what I was told, and observing and applying what worked and what did not. I gave no thought to who made it, or why. I was living for the moment because I thought that was all we had.
But there came a day when I asked the Lord into my heart, and I began to see a purpose for my life. I began to see a purpose for everyone’s life. I began to see that we are not here by accident. We are not here by chance – nothing is. We are made to be right here, right now with a purpose for being here.
The Word tells us, “For you created my inmost being, Lord, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:13,16) God created us just like He created the Heavens, and the Universes, and the Earths, and all of the beautiful, spectacular, amazing things in them. He created us, and all of these things through His spoken Word. We know Him, The Word, as Jesus, the name Father gave Joseph and Mary to give Him. (Matt 1:21 , Luke 1:31) . ( The name Jesus is the Greek form of Joshua, which means ‘the Lord saves’.) We were created through Christ Jesus in the womb of the mother chosen for us, as was He, assigned a place to be born, given a path through Him to Heaven, and our destiny, and the journey was on. It is a journey ordained by Him. Still we have the choice to make as to whether we believe His Word or not, and live this life ordained for us.
May we believe His Word, realize we were created by Him for this time and the place we are in, and receive His power and love with which to create goodness through Him. He created and creates through His Word. So it is for us. May we realize what He has placed in our hands to do His work of Love.
