Whom shall I fear? Psalm 27

n the span of time we are given to live here, we are on a mission.  We are here to learn and to grow.  We are each given gifts which we are to use for the benefit of ourselves, and those in our world.  We are not born in a certain time or place by accident, we are born where we are because it is chosen for us.

Some are born in privilege; some are born in poverty.  We are there, we are here, to make a difference for good.  We are here to learn of God’s love, and to come to know Jesus as the Christ, and to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.  Through this love, and power, and the wisdom and knowledge that comes with it, we can change lives – starting with ours.  We can lift people out of poverty, we can show that privilege is a gift to be shared, we can walk in perfect health given to us at the cross. We can walk in perfect peace.  (“By His wounds we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:5.)   These things are ours to have if we walk in faith that God is good, and He has given these things for us to use on this journey. Or, we can walk in fear and allow the enemy to steal these from us.  Remember, he came to steal, kill, and destroy.  (John 10:10a)
Fear can cause us to be so anxious we can hardly function. It can cause literal pain, and disease.  It can kill dreams of what we can be, and why we are here.   It can steal our peace. It can steal our joy.  It can destroy the opportunities for the abundant life Christ came to give. (John 10:10b)  It is perhaps the greatest tool of the enemy.  The Good News is we can overcome it.  We can defeat it through faith in our Lord.
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, David wrote: “The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid.”  Psalm 27:1   There is no power greater than the power of our Lord God.  He has given each of us the privilege to use that power.  He has given us the ‘keys to the kingdom’.  He has given us the ‘power to loosen, and the power to bind’.(Matthew 18:18).  He has given us the freedom of choice to allow fear to fight us and drag us down, or choose faith in the Lord to fight the battle for us and walk in His victory.  (2 Chronicles 20:15)
David continued: “My heart says of You, ‘Seek His face!  Your face, Lord I will seek.’  I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
(Psalm 27:8, 13-14) When fear of the future attacks, you know where to turn.  Look full into His wonderful face of Love, and know that all is well.  Hand it off to Him, and know, ‘He’s got this’.
The Lord said, “According to your faith, be it unto you.”  Fear no evil power, no issue, no situation, no sickness, no man. Walk by faith, and not by sight.  Don’t be afraid; just Believe.
You are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved by our Lord, God’s Beloveds. He has power over all things. You belong to Him.  Enjoy your privilege, o’ child of God.
