“I trust my soul to You, O my God.”

Our mid-week message is from Psalm 25.  Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, King David begins this writing with these words:

“To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God.”  Psalm 25:1, 2a
I was recently in conversation with a wonderful Gentlemen about our soul, and how important it is to provide health and nourishment to it.  We often forget that we are body, soul, and spirit.  Each part of our being is to be cared for – nourished and cherished – as the creation of God that it is. To live an abundant life that is greatly blessed; and that means highly favored and deeply loved; our soul must prosper, and be in good health’. (KJV)
The Apostle John wrote this truth as we see in Third John, The NIV puts it like this:  “To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth. Dear Friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
3 John 1,2.
The Soul, which is our mind, our will, our intellect, our emotions, our heart, is the part of us that the evil one battles for.  In Christ Jesus, our spirit is perfect.  It is inhabited by the Holy Spirit, and sealed until the day of redemption. It cannot be touched.  Our flesh will return to the dust from which it came, and we will be given a new and glorified body when Christ comes again.  But our soul, our essence, will live forever, and it can be greatly influenced in this life. That is what he wants.
When we, by the calling of the Father, because of His great love for us, can believe that He allowed Jesus to take all of our sins, and sorrows, and diseases upon Himself and die for us.  When we can believe that Jesus was resurrected from death to show we are justified, and have been granted unmerited grace.  When we can believe we are washed clean by the blood He sacrificed for us.  When we can believe that Father sees only the righteousness of Christ in us when we stand before Him.  When we can believe these things , or just simply believe that Jesus loves us, and ask Him into our heart (we will come to know those other things as we grow), The Holy Spirit enters in with Jesus, and gives birth to a new spirit within. We are born again. We are a new creation.  We are a perfect child of God in our spirit.
Our spirit prospers and grows under the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit who lives in that holy place when we ‘quince not’ the Spirit. When we walk in His love, and Way.
The Holy Spirit also assists us in maturing our soul and taking charge of our flesh in a co-creative effort as we go forth. The Lord has given us the opportunity to have our part as He walks with us into the sanctification process. He has given us free will to decide how we shall live and what we shall become as we journey on. He trusts us with the divine God like ability He has created in us.
May we do as David did, and lift up our soul to our Lord, and trust Him to show us the right way to do this thing called Life. It is too big to do on our own as we often try to do.
Let us Trust Him. Let us put our faith in Him.  Let us believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)   Let us allow His written Word to bathe our soul, body and spirit as we meditate upon it.  As we trust our Lord, our soul shall prosper and be in good health. He shall make it so.  As our Soul prospers and is in good health, John said we shall prosper, and be in good health in all areas of our life.
May we be encouraged, and strengthened and comforted by the truth of the Word, God’s Beloveds.
Blessings and love to you, and yours, my Friends.
