“Grace and Peace”: 2 Peter

Hello Abundant Life Family,

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Peter wrote:
“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2
When we come to the realization of how much God truly loves us, our lives change.  When we come to an understanding of what Grace really is, the new creation that we have become when we are born again begins to manifest itself. A transformation takes place.  We begin to live in peace in our heart because we know we don’t have anything to prove.  Jesus did the work. Our struggle is over when we believe and accept what He has done for us, and what is ours to have through Him.  When we have that revelation, we no longer chase things in, and of the world; we look to Him for our every need, and are at peace about it. We show up to live life every day – ready to be the best we can be in Him.  Excited about what He has for us as we journey on. We are at peace in His grace.
Peter said, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness though our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.  Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”  2 Peter 1: 3, 4.
We read these words, but so often do not receive and act on the promises in them.  We love the promises, but we fail to take them literally.  We might try to act upon them, and nothing happens that we can see, and so we give up instead of settling into grace and peace as we wait upon His timing.
Let us trust His timing. Let us believe His promises. He has given us the knowledge through His Word of how to live in grace and peace. It is by accepting and living in His divine power, and divine nature.           He has called us to it. It is ours to have.
Let it be so, God’s Beloveds.
