“Walk in the truth” 3rd John 3

Hello Abundant Life Family,

As we continue our study of 3rd John, we pick up at verse 3.  Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,  the Apostle writes: “It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”  3rd John 3, 4
John was writing this to a dear friend, Gaius, but the Lord used the letter to speak to us all.  It brings great joy to our Lord, and to us who believe, when we walk in the truth. The Gospel is the truth, the Lord Jesus is the truth, the love of the Father is the truth, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the one who believes, and receives that Jesus is the Messiah, is the truth, the Covenant of Grace is the truth.
The truth is beautiful, and straight forward to the one who believes it, and receives it;  but to one who does not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and was sent by the Father (John 6:29), and that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father except ‘through’ Him (John 14:6), because He is the door, and that He is the finished work of man trying to keep the law, (John 19:30) (Romans 10:4), the truth is questioned, and often not believed in its fullness, or believed at all.
There are many religions that worship God, but miss the truth.  They agonize in laws of man, and are confused by lies of the enemy, and do not grasp grace.  But from the direction of the Father, and His love for us, and the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus personally brought truth to us, and He is truth personified.  He personally preached and taught the Good News, and commissioned us to do the same.  The Good News that He died for the sins of every person that ever lived, and was raised to newness of life to be a testimony that He indeed defeated death, and disease, and weakness of the flesh, and lack of any kind, and can, and will, bring victory in every area of our life when we give it to Him. Every area. Amen.
May we let ‘truth’ be in us, on us, and flow through us as we begin every day opening our body, soul, and spirit to it through prayer and praise. Then we shall indeed  “walk in the truth.”
May the Lord bless you, and keep you.  May you prosper in all good things, and be in good health even as your soul prospers.  May you know just how greatly you are loved, God’s Beloveds.
Poppa B.
